If you are concerned about your mental health, or the mental health of a family member, you should discuss this with your GP to find out what treatment and help is available.
Our GPs have extensive experience dealing with patients with various mental health issues, varying in severity, and including those who may not have previously suffered mental health issues.
If you have a diagnosed mental disorder you may be eligible for a Mental Health Treatment Plan. This plan helps to identify what assistance you need and may include referrals to a mental health service.
A Mental Health Treatment Plan allows patients to access up to 20 individual psychological sessions per calendar year with Medicare rebates. Along with regular GP reviews the aim is to provide support and improve outcomes for patients with mental health disorders.
